New Paintings and Upcoming Shows

EagleCorvid Congregation, 2007, 30" X 22".  One way to see eagles is to listen for crows.  They are always harassing eagles.  One day in my studio I heard the crows making a racket and looked up to see this scene.  The eagle had "something" that it was eating (most likely a black duck) and the crows were watching from a discrete distance.  Crows are in the Corvidae family and are collectively referred to as Corvids, hence the name of the painting.  They are smart enough to not get too close to the aggressive eagles.

Jack PineJack Pine on Gorham Mountain, 2006, 16" X 22".  I really do love trees, and this jack pine along the trail up Gorham Mountain was just a lovely shape.I had fun mixing the greens of the trees and the deep colors of the receding forest.  We are in the northern range of jack pines.

I am showing this summer at the Cygnet Gallery, 81 Oak Street, Portland, ME; th Courthouse Gallery, 6 Court Street, Ellsworth, ME, and at Redfield Artisans Gallery, Main Street, Northeast Harbor, ME.
